Idaho Arts Charter School

We are pleased to announce Idaho Arts Charter School has purchased the historic Lakeview School located on 5th Avenue North in Nampa! Mussell Construction and Rick Bugatsch, AIA, will rennovate the historic school and build a 20,000 square foot addition to accommodate our 541 K-12 student body and enable us to grow!

March 5, 2008 at 1:30 pm will be out Ground Breaking Ceremony, please join Mayor Dale and the Idaho Arts Charter School Staff and Students as we celebrate this great event!

Idaho Arts Charter School (IACS) opened its doors on August 29th, 2005 with over 500 students in attendance. Our current 2007 - 2008 enrollment serves 541 students in grades K - 12 with a waiting list equal to our enrollment.

IACS differs from traditional public schools by integrating a rigorous arts and academic curriculum utilizing focused investigations to enhance the educational experience. All students receive instruction in piano keyboarding, dance, theatre arts, vocal technique, instrumental (band and orchestra) technique and visual arts. The school is tuition free, donation dependent and no student is admitted or denied based on financial capacity. 52% of the school's 541 students are on free or reduced lunches.

The traditional core curriculum areas--language arts, mathematics, science, and social studies--are strongly emphasized through an integrated arts approach using focused investigations. The school seeks to develop an educated and caring citizenry for the 21st century.

The Idaho Arts Charter School Foundation's mission is to:
  • Provide funds for land purchase, building construction, expansion, equipment and materials purchase, scholarships, endowments, special events and more, through fundraising events, grant applications, and capital campaigns.
  • Enrich students, teachers, administrators and community arts education and training by providing programs with excellence in the arts at the core.
  • Enhance the educational experience at IACS by providing state-of-the-art equipment which will provide integrated arts educational opportunities to our students, faculty, staff and community through continuous fund raising.
  • Promote excellence in education through the Arts by providing IACS the means to act as a state and national leader in teacher training, curriculum development and dissemination of information and research on integrating the arts into education.
Please consider supporting the students of the Idaho Arts Charter School as well as the underprivileged students within the surrounding community and investing in the next generation of world-class artists.
